Cliff Rayman, Owner, Outlaws Boxing Club

I've been training fighters since 1998.  I've trained hundreds of fighters in both the amateur and pro ranks.

The thing I like best about boxing is that the training is very individualized.  We are not looking to create clones where for convenience of the trainers, everyone is trained the same way.  If you are short and strong, we will teach you how to fight taller fighters: how to get inside, stay inside and do damage.  If you are a taller fighter, we teach you how to keep your distance and make a shorter fighter work to get in, and punish them as they try.  If you have incredible stamina, we teach you how to outwork your opponent.  If you can't develop stamina, we teach you how to create rest periods.  The idea is to utilize your strengths and minimize your weaknesses.

There is no better workout than boxing.  Not only does it build the cardio vascular system, but it requires strength and flexibility from the tips of your toes to the end of your fists.  It heavily relies on core strength and muscles that are both strong and flexible.  We've trained many athletes that believed they were in tip top shape, just to find they couldn't last a round in simulated fight conditions.

The best thing about Outlaws is the team atmosphere.  I know that boxing is an individualized sport, but at Outlaws, everyone is on the same team and we help eachother to improve our conditioning and boxing skills.  We have trained fighters as young as five and as old as 81 (and still counting).   Our club competes in the major amateur tournaments including local and national tournaments, and we have professional fighters in our gym such as future champion Larry Mosely.  If you just want to look and feel like a Pro Fighter, but never want to spar or fight, that is up to you, we will train just the same.

Please stop by.  Our first lesson is always free.  Don't be intimidated.  We have a friendly team atmosphere and we will take you from whereever you are today, to where you want to be tomorrow.
